President and Principal Designer

Melissa holds an accredited degree in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University and is a member of the American Society of Interior Design.

Her broad design background has earned her positions in a large interior design firm based in Colorado, in an architectural office, as well as in a multidisciplinary design firm specializing in landscape design. Melissa’s current focus is on combining environmentally sensitive materials with exceptional design skills to bring visions to reality.


Robert Willsie
Robert Willsie
Design Director

As the Design Director, Robert oversees the design staff and manages the projects from concept to completion, along with handling much of the related business functions that go into creating a successful design firm. With 16 years of experience he has a unique insight into the fusion between residential and hospitality design.

Prior to joining Greenauer Design Group, Robert established himself among the global leaders in resort spa design and consulting. Leading a team of designers and consultants on a variety of multi-million dollar luxury hospitality projects his client list includes the most prestigious hotel brands in the industry: The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Jumeirah, Le Meridien, Sheraton, Fairmont, and Sofitel.

With a global perspective, he excels at translating concepts into the most progressive designs around the world including projects in the Caribbean, Middle East, North, and South America. Robert is NCIDQ certified, and earned his BA in design from the Colorado State University.

While outside the office, Robert enjoys soccer, skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking, photography, and digging around in the garden.

Loret Davey
Executive Assistant

Loret Davey joined Greenauer Design Group in 2004 as the Executive Assistant to Melissa Greenauer. She is an integral role supporting Melissa’s individual projects with a business accounting emphasis. Her positive energy, professionalism and attention to detail are a valuable asset for the company. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

When she finds time, Loret enjoys being with her husband, Tom, and dog, Benji. She loves to ski on big powder days, tennis, biking and hiking.

Kris Yellen
Sr. Designer

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Kris Yellen joins Greenauer Design Group with a long-standing family history tied to the design industry. She attended Vanderbilt University, and is a graduate of the University of Texas with a B.B. in Interior Design.

Kris has over 20 years of professional experience in both commercial and residential design, and extensive experience working on a national level with single and multi-family builders. She has held senior project designer positions with various top firms in Houston, Omaha, and Denver Colorado.

Kris’ professional awards include Sam award – Merit Award Sam Award – best interior for mid-rise/high-rise (Mandalay on the Hudson);

The Nationals – silver award for best interior and best community (Trilogy at Vistancia, Arizona); MAME awards – silver award for best interior design (Engle Homes / Founder’s Village, Colorado).

In her free time, Kris enjoys skiing and hiking in the mountains of Colorado, and spending time with her bernese mountain dog “Marley”.

Clay Pryor
Sr. Designer

Clay Pryor is a Dallas, Texas native and now calls Colorado his home. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in landscape architecture. Clay also holds a degree in interior design from the Colorado Institute of Art.

His professional knowledge combined with over 15 years of interior design experience has generated a strong, creative cell within our firm’s hospitality division.

Clay’s design perspective is constantly expanding as he creates unique and efficient design solutions focused in the hospitality industry.

His personal career portfolio includes successful interior design programs for hospitality clients such as Regal Hotels International, Marriott and Hilton hotel brands. In addition, Clay has worked with Shea homes in developing their trilogy community products. His work encompasses various historic landmark hotels within the national parks and inner city locations. Notable projects also include destination resorts, restaurants and bars, spas and golf club communities across the country.

Clay’s professional awards include Golf Club of the Year; Golf, inc. magazine (the Nines / Redmond Washington); best hospitality project under 10,000 sf. ASID (La Quinta, California); Project Manager of the year, NEWH (Colorado chapter); merit award for best hospitality project, Antron design awards (Cascade Club / Redmond, WA)

In his free time, clay enjoys hiking and biking, period history including American, and all things that possess color, texture and natural forms.

Kyle Yanulavich
Project Manager

Kyle joins Greenauer Design Group with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a minor in Business Economics from Buffalo State College. Kyle’s combination of design knowledge, CAD and technical skills allows her to assist our team in all aspects of the project, from design origination through completion.

Recently relocating from the Adirondacks in New York, Kyle plans on exploring the Rockies. In her spare time, she enjoys running, kayaking and tap dancing.

Jenna Gilbert
Designer

Jenna Gilbert, Vail, Co native, joins the Greenauer design team with a Bachelors of Interior Design from the Art Institute of Colorado, where she graduated with honors. Jenna’s enthusiastic energy for interior design and attention to detail make her an invaluable asset to Greenauer Design Group.

Jenna has witnessed firsthand Vail’s growth into the world class resort destination it is now, and uses this insight to support multiple designers on high end resort and design projects worldwide. She maintains an excellent knowledge of the extensive fabric and furniture library, and continually builds relationships with showroom representatives, suppliers, and contract labor sources.

In her spare time, Jenna enjoys snowboarding, camping, going to concerts, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and Husky, Denali.

Kaili Chipman
Jr. Designer

Kaili Chipman is a native to the Vail Valley. She recently moved back from California where she attended the University of Los Angeles, California. During her time in California, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and attended their Summer Institute for Architecture & Urban Design. Kaili also holds a degree in Interior Design from FIDM, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she graduated summa cum laude.

Kaili’s previous experience includes working for a high-end tile showroom, where she acquired knowledge of the technical and aesthetic application of tile and stone for interior and exterior environments. She also worked at two boutique interior design firms specializing in high end residential design. Kaili is a member of ASID and is looking to become LEED certified in the fall.

In her spare time, Kaili enjoys traveling. Her most exciting adventure was a two month backpacking trip to South America in the fall of 2008. She enjoys sports, skiing, hiking, rafting and being outdoors. Most of all she loves spending time with her family and friends in beautiful Vail, Co.

Misty VanHeulen
Project Coordinator

Misty joins Greenauer Design Group with a Bachelors in Marketing from Davenport University in Michigan. She brings her experience in the design industry to Greenauer by assisting with administration, managing the valley’s Lodging Quality Assurance program and through her sales experience of interior finishes within the hospitality industry.

In her spare time, Misty enjoys skiing, attending valley events, co-ed softball, and spending time with her animals.

Kristina is located in Denver, allowing Greenauer Design Group an immediate resource in the area. Kristina has more than ten years of design experience and her knowledge of the latest trends and time honored traditions make her an integral part of our team.

Greenauer Design Group, which specializes in interior and exterior design, was started by Melissa Greenauer in April, 1998. The group has grown since then into a full service, multi disciplinary design team. Each team member plays an important role.
